The Year in review and looking forward:

Last year was a fun filled and exciting 12 months. There was lots of action, spectacular flights and sometimes spectacular crashes. Perhaps the most notable event was the South Texas Triad in which the Houston Hawks, The Austin Silent Fliers and our own club battled it out for the coveted bragging rights. The Houston Hawks won last years South Texas Triad Series but there are more contests on the horizon. The Triad was so well received that the Dallas fliers want to get in on the fun, too. In 2008, the series will be known as the Lone Star Soaring Series (LSSS). This means the Triad plaque will be retired and our club will have a chance to compete for a new prestigious trophy. There have been some changes to the scoring format for 2008 that will strongly favor the clubs with more members present at each contest. So we’ll be looking for all our members to participate in this series. With gasoline prices as they are it will be an effort to travel, so car pool when you can. The folks who are hosting the event really appreciate the participation.

We are hosting our portion of the LSSS on November the 15th. Since this is the final leg of the LSSS, we need your help to make it run smoothly. We’ll need help with winches, scoring, setting up, breaking down, and general logistics. Come support your club.
